At the start of his career, in the 1950s, Roger Capron
designed mainly utilitarian objects whose aesthetic
was characterized by undulating lines and expressionist motifs.
He was a proponent of free forms, a line of conduct he would maintain for a long time.
In the 60s, he moved towards a more modernist style with garish, geometric motifs.
In 1980, he was awarded the Grand Prix International de la Céramique.
In 2000, the New York Times described him as “one of the most prolific and important artisans of post-war European design.
