Jan Schoonhoven

Johannes Jacobus “Jan, Jr. Schoonhoven (Amsterdam, December 24, 1975) is a Dutch visual/abstract artist. He is the grandson of artist Jan Schoonhoven (1914-1994). His reliefs are made of papier-mâché. His work is based on lines, squares, light, shadow and repetition.
For the past twenty years, he has been visiting Franciscan fraternities and contemplative monasteries, where he draws much of his inspiration.
Jan Schoonhoven Jr. lives and creates his artworks in a town called Amstelveen, near Amsterdam, in the Netherlands.
