Alessandro Filippini is both poet and visual artist. Inspired by Minimalism and Italian aesthetic currents such as Arte Povera and New Realism, his works reveal a meticulous use of materials. His work is forged around several axes: the word and writing, memory and time, the individual and his identity. Letters and time are an integral part of his approach. He poetically transposes the essence of imperceptible reality. He touches on our deepest nature and our human condition as spectator, actor, living and mortal, the passage of time, love, solitude, parenthood, the dualities of life and death, today and tomorrow, light and darkness, everything and nothing. Thanks to the power of words, he gives them a new scope, an intrinsic signifying force that gives free rein to imagination, interpretation and the interplay of emotions.
